भावप्रकाश नामक ग्रंथ में बताई गई विधि से सारी औषधियों को मिलाकर यह मसाला बनाया गया है ।

आयुर्वेद के ग्रंथो में छाछ का बहुत महत्व बताया गया है । इसकी महत्ता बताते हुए कहा जाता था कि, छाछ देवों को भी दुर्लभ है । छाछ में पाचन गुण हैं इसलिए छाछ को भोजन के अंत में विविध औषधियाँ के साथ पीने का विधान है । छाछ के साथ ली जानेवाली औषधियाँ पाचक और वायु का अनुलोमन करने का गुण रखती है, जो अन्न पाचन करने में सहायता करती है । आयुर्वेद के विभिन्न ग्रंथो में छाछ को पचाने के लिए तथा विविध उदर रोगों से बचने के लिए विविध औषधियाँ बताई गई है, जिसमें हिंग, अजवाईन, जीरा जैसी औषधियाँ मुख्य है । बाजार में बिकनेवालें मसालों में निम्बू के फूल (citric acid) का मिश्रण स्वाद को बढाने के लिए किया जाता है । इसका सेवन स्वास्थ्य के लिए हानिकारक होता है । हमारे यहाँ विभिन्न प्राकृतिक औषधियों से छाछ मसाला तैयार किया जाता है, जिस में न केवल स्वाद परंतु साथ-साथ गुण और कर्म इत्यादि को ध्यान में रखते हुए यह मिश्रण बनाया गया है । ऐसी औषधियों का संयोजन करके संस्कृति आर्य गुरुकुलम् ने छाछ मसाला तैयार किया गया है ।

Many benefits of Chhachh or buttermilk are detailed in ayyrveda. It used to be said that buttermilk is rare for devas as well. Buttermilk has digestive properties that is why it is prescribed to have it with various medicinal herbs at the end of a meal. The herbs taken in buttermilk are digestion and have properties to prevent gas formation, which is beneficial in digesting food. Various Ayurveda scriptures have prescribed medicinal herbs to digest buttermilk and to protect from stomach illness, which primarily consist of hing, ajwain, jeera. Generally available chhachh masalas use citric acid to enhance taste, however it is harmful for health. We prepare chhachh masala not only with herbs to make it tasty but also keeping in mind its qualities, effects and objectives.
